ARMANI

A name which became the first choice among the Hollywood stars for its sharp suits and neutral colors, was a dream of Giorgio Armani, the man behind the success and vastness of this brand.

Giorgio Armani was born on July 11, 1934 in Italy. He pursued his studies to become a doctor and then realized his heart lies somewhere else. He dropped out of university and went to work as a buyer at La Rinascente, a famous department store in Milan.

Later, he joined the staff of Nino Cerruti as a designer. With the encouragement of his friend Sergio Galeotti, Armani launched his own brand Giorgio Armani s.p.a in 1975 with his friend Sergio as partner.

When quizzed Armani best described his approach to fashion as: “I was the first to soften the image of men, and harden the image of women. I dressed men in women’s fabrics, and stole from men what women wanted and needed—the power suit.”

Armani continued to fly with wings of different brands and inspires all of us with his creations.
